About The Artist
Born 1959 in Goa, Subodh Kerkar, an accomplished painter, sculptor, designer and facilitator is a qualified doctor who graduated from the University of Bombay but gave up his medical profession to pursue his passion for art. Receiving his initial art education from his artist father, Chandrakant Kerkar, Subodh,he has been a regular illustrator and cartoonist for local and national newspapers. A sort of an ‘ocean artist’ the vast ocean that he lives next to, has been both his muse and the medium. His work often as mixed media installations patek philippe replica in basic geometric forms and patterns rotates around nature to draw one’s attention to the need for preserving precious natural resources such as water and earth. Often working with natural materials and forms, the artist incorporates in his work what he can find in the surroundings.Subodh’s work has been exhibited widely all over the country and internationally in Europe and the Middle East. Apart from painting,sculpting and photography, he has also designed restaurants and houses and illustrated several books including for Dale Carnegie Syndicate in Germany for which he illustrating management books with 100 cartoons.
